Judicial Philosophy

Tom believes judges are responsible for applying the law—not creating it.  His judicial philosophy is grounded in the following beliefs:

The Constitution Matters
Laws should be applied as written
Judges should not legislate from the bench
Fairness and consistency build public trust

Courtroom Experience

Tom’s legal career has prepared him for the real demands of District Court:

  • Extensive experience in criminal defense and high-conflict litigation
  • Practice in both state and federal courts
  • Work in emotionally charged and high-stakes cases
  • A reputation for preparation, discipline, and persistence

This experience gives Tom a clear understanding of how judicial decisions affect real people everyday.

 The People's Court

District Court is known as the people’s court for a reason. It is where decisions are made quickly and where outcomes directly affect individuals, workers, and local communities.

Tom believes District Court judges must:

  • Apply the law consistently
  • Respect constitutional protections
  • Treat every person with dignity
  • Exercise restraint and sound judgment
